Biography

Mr. Camano is a vocal music educator with believes that music is more than just a subject---it's a gateway to empathy, self-discovery, and human connection. His philosophy of teaching is deeply rooted in his belief that students thrive when education encompasses their holistic development, nurturing their cognitive, social, and emotional growth. As a music educator, Adrian believes that his goal is to create a nurturing environment where his students feel valued, challenged, and motivated to explore their musical potential.


He currently serves as the Director of Choral Activities and Vocal Music Teacher for the Fine and Practical Art Department at Delaware Valley Regional High School (Del Val) in Frenchtown, NJ, and has held this position since August 2022. Mr. Camano graduated from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education with a Choral/Vocal Concentration and holds a NJ Certification of Eligibility with Advanced Standing in Music.  


At Del Val, Adrian oversees a diverse vocal music program which currently consists of three different ensembles: Concert Choir, Vox Auri (auditioned chamber choir), and Vox Blue (contemporary a cappella group). He taught Introduction to Music Theory and Voice Lessons last year, and currently teaches AP Music Theory and Piano Lab. Mr. Camano is also a part of the exceptional artistic team in the Theatre Department which produces the Winter Musical each year. This year, Adrian served as Vocal Music Director in addition to Assistant Producer and Sound Designer for Big Fish.  In 2023, Adrian served as both Vocal Musical Director and Pit Conductor for The Addams Family and was nominated for multiple Paper Mill Rising Star Awards including Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Outstanding Performance by an Orchestra. Last year, Mr. Camano served as Vocal Music Director in addition to Lead Sound Technician and Sound/Projections Designer for Newsies and was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Chorus.


Throughout his time at TCNJ, Mr. Camano was afforded various professional opportunities to gain experience as a music educator working with students of all different age levels. He was selected and served as Conducting Fellow for the renowned Princeton Girlchoir and Boychoir where he assisted Dr. Lynnel Joy Jenkins, Director of Princeton Girlchoir and Artistic Director of Westrick Music Academy, and Fred Meads, Director of Princeton Boychoir. He was also chosen to be a Student Conductor for the Choral Honors Festival, an event at TCNJ for gifted high school vocalists. In Fall 2021, he studied advanced choral conducting independently with Dr. John P. Leonard, Director of Choral Activities at TCNJ.  This included working with TCNJ's elite auditioned choral ensemble, Chorale, as a Student Conductor. The culmination of this study consisted of Mr. Camano having the opportunity to conduct the piece that he worked with the Chorale on throughout the semester, Sydney Guillaume's Kalinda, at the Choirs Concert in December 2021. 


Adrian completed his student teaching at Fleetwood Elementary School in Mount Laurel, NJ where he oversaw twenty K-4 general music classes. He also taught at Cranford High School (CHS) in Cranford, NJ where he directed four vocal ensembles and taught a music theory class. Adrian also served as Assistant Music Director, Assistant Conductor, and Pit Musician of the school music theatre production at CHS.


Mr. Camano studied voice at TCNJ with Dr. Christopher Sierra during his freshman and sophomore years, and studied with Professor Mark Moliterno during his junior and senior years. He gave his senior recital in February 2022. Throughout his four years at TCNJ, Mr. Camano was an active performer with  the TCNJ Chorale. In October 2018, he performed with the Philharmonia Orchestra of New York at Kings Theatre for the Magnificat Day celebration under the direction of Maestro Francesco Attardi. In December 2018, Mr. Camano performed with The Philadelphia Orchestra and The Mendelssohn Chorus of Philadelphia at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts at the annual Glorious Sounds of Christmas concert under the direction of Maestro Bramwell Tovey. He also performed with The Philharmonia Orchestra of New York at Lincoln Center in New York City for the annual Hand In Hand concert under the direction of Maestro Atsushi Yamada.  A notable performance for Mr. Camano is with the TCNJ Choirs and the TCNJ Chamber Wind Ensemble for the World Premiere of Dr. Rollo Dilworth's Weather, commissioned by the TCNJ Department of Music in October 2021. 


Adrian resides in Phillipsburg, NJ with his mom, dad, and his puppy, Pancho.
